New to Paris!

Hi everyone, how's it going?

I'm moving over to Paris on the 12th of April and won't know a soul! Anyway, it'd be great to meet up with any other newcomers in order to go exploring and adventuring or anyone with a little more knowledge of the city would also be ideal. I'm a 30 year old guy from Scotland, very sociable and outgoing and I definitely want to get the best out of the city.

Also, I have another question - I'm moving for a new job in the 16th arr, on the Rue Am d'estaing, 75016 so if anyone can recomend a good place to look for a room (somewhere vibrant and with good nightlife, and either close to a Metro or within a walk from my work) I'd be more than grateful!
